An easy to grow member of the brassica family, purple top turnips are cold hardy and drought tolorant.
Deer will typically eat the tops in early Fall and return for the bulps in late the winter, often pawing through the snow and the frozen ground to get them. Leaves remain palatable and nutritious even after several frosts.
In the North plant in late July or early August, further South plant late August to early September.
Very small seed, best broadcasted then cultipacked.
